Tiger Trip Companion is built to keep your travels private. Your trips stay with you.
This policy explains how the Tiger Trip Companion app (“the app”, “we”) handles your information. The short version: the app has no accounts and no servers of ours, and everything you create lives on your own device.
What we collect
We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. There is no sign-up, no login, and no advertising or analytics tracking in the app. We do not run any server that receives your data.
What stays on your device
Everything you add — trips, itineraries, tickets, checklists, reminders, expenses, journal entries, saved places, visited countries and settings — is stored locally on your device. Photos you capture or import are also saved locally. This information never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself.
Location
If you use the Nearby and Route features, the app asks for your location to find places around you and to draw walking, driving or transit routes. Your location is used on the device and through Apple Maps to show results; we do not store it or send it to us. You can turn location access off at any time in your device Settings — the rest of the app keeps working.
Camera and photos
The app asks for camera and photo access only when you choose to add a picture to a trip or journal entry. Those photos are saved on your device and are never uploaded by us.
Notifications
Reminders and travel alerts are scheduled as local notifications on your device. They are created and delivered on the device itself and are not sent through any service of ours.
Services the app connects to
To show live information, the app makes direct requests from your device to a few third-party services, sending only what each one needs to answer:
- Apple Maps (MapKit) for maps, place search and directions.
- A public weather service for forecasts (it receives approximate coordinates for the city you view).
- A public exchange-rate service for currency conversion.
These providers handle requests under their own privacy policies. The app does not send them your name, contacts, or the content you create.
Children
The app is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Your control
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control. You can edit or delete any item at any time, reset the app to its sample content from Settings, or remove everything by deleting the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
